Visit Jasper’s waste and recycling program that includes a community food waste collection system. Then tour Jasper’s waste water treatment plant, built in 2003, which operates as a biological nutrient removal system which significantly reduces the level of total suspended solids, biochemical oxygen demand, and nutrients in the final effluent.

The Recycling Council of Alberta’s annual waste reduction conference, this year themed “League of Extraordinary Recyclers – Knocking Out Waste”, will be held from September 28-30, 2016 at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
